Below are pictures of a typical restoration. In addition to internal structural work we spend a lot of time restoring the varnish. The goal is to remove all dirt, retouch and replace missing varnish while still keeping the character and wear. We preserve the instrument’s history by preserving the natural wear patterns and bringing the varnish back to its original state. Now it is all set for the next 150 years!
